Live you dream !

"Whether you're an explorer, a researcher or a jazz musician, it takes a lot of hard work and talent to succeed."

That was the introduction for a seminar held in Trondheim this week, with title "live your dream!". The mentionned explorer was the Norwegian polar explorer Liv Arnesen, who found her dream of skiing to the South Pole as a twelve-year-old girl,when she read a children’s book about Roald Amundsen’s historic journey there. She is now heading back to the South Pole in November, 2011, to pursue a new dream: she and her expedition partner Ann Bancroft will be travelling with six women, one from each of the inhabited continents – to follow in the footsteps of Amundsen, 100 years after his journey to the Pole.

She gave a very inspiring talk about fullfilling its own dreams in general, and about her South Pole adventures in particular. The detailed program is here, and you can even watch this talk in streaming here (It start about the 41st min). The 30 min are really worth it, so go for it!

As a training, she crossed all the Norwegian mountains skiing ... so that's what we are aiming at :-)
